Mike Harris Book Signing

My friend Mike Harris and the author of Jeans of the Old West did a book signing event at the levi’s store in Malibu. I tagged along and did a few shots which will end up in Malibu magazine. Mike brought some special pieces as usual and was educating the crowd about denim history. The vice president of Levi’s XX Dave Coury also attended the event and obviously hit it off with Mike. If you’re a denim fan, this book is a must.

In the desert with Mike Harris and friends

In February, I went out with denim hunter and historian Mike Harris and his father in law Russ. Also, my friend and fellow photographer Cory Piehowicz came down from Ohio. We had a blast and really had a chance to take in the desert and go into the mines which not very many people get to do. I have always loved the desert and to spend the night out there with good friends was really special. What an amazing experience!!! For the trip, I wore my Roy x Cone contest jeans (only 30 pairs made worldwide) and my Red Wing Beckman boots. You can see the results of the shoot in the next issue of Inventory Magazine. Meanwhile I will post some pics I took with my phone camera.

Self Edge Flat Head Party, Los Angeles Ca

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a party at my friend Kiya’s store Self Edge to honor the Japanese denim brand Flat head . Flat Head is one of the most respected Japanese denim brands around and makes amazing stuff. If you know Kiya, you know he loves to party and knows how to throw one. It was nice to get together with some old friends and meet new ones as well. As you can tell by now, I’m a pretty big fan of denim. Cheers!!!

Superdenim LA Photoshoot

The Superdrnim LA photoshoot was a blast. A group of us who are very much into denim (quite Fanatical about it if you want to know the truth) and post on a forum called Superfuture got together to shoot some fun shots at Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood hills. My friend Kiya was throwing a big bash at his store on La Brea Self Edge, so this was a great way to show some people who flew from out of town the LA skyline and have a little fun as well. Amongst the visitors were my friend Beatle who came from germany and Giles and Paula who run Iron Heart UK. Cheers!!!
